Position Overview
ASSET Inc. is seeking a strategic Grants Manager to oversee a sustainable, effective, and efficient grants operation. Through planned research, identification, development, cultivation, stewardship, communications, compliance, and reporting activities, the Manager will submit proposals and manage awards in support of the ASSET’s mission and operating goals. ASSET is rooted in inquiry and promotes a team environment where active reflection and responsiveness define our work. The Grants Manager will utilize this mindset to successfully cultivate relationships, foster collaboration, and support a culture of trust with colleagues, partners, and funders.
Primary Responsibilities & Job Functions

Develop and manage a diverse pipeline of current and prospective grant funders that align with the ASSET’s priorities

Manage a portfolio of 40-50 funders annually, with grants ranging $5k-$1M; experience managing state and federal grants preferred

Conduct research to identify funding opportunities with foundations, governmental agencies, corporate, and community-based funding organizations

Create detailed plans for each prospect that includes action dates for meetings and other communications, LOI’s and proposals, and grant reports

Build relationships with existing and new funders and partners and implement a stewardship process to ensure ongoing engagement

Manage all grant writing, submission, and compliance in coordination with the program team to ensure that all grant deliverables are completed in a timely manner

Partner with accounting team on budget creation, budget projections and analysis of expenses as needed

Analyze and monitor projects’ fund and cash balances and, keeping the project team informed of status and issues requiring attention

Maintain the grant management system (Salesforce for Nonprofits)

Produce electronic calendars, dashboards, and reports for internal strategic planning

Analyze grant funding trends to identify growing programs, opportunities for increased funding, and areas in need of greater development

Engage with the Executive Director and strategic consultants to develop an impactful organizational narrative based on program data and information

Regularly update cohesive messaging and collateral to enhance storytelling through press releases, email campaigns, testimonials, photos, stakeholder outreach, etc.

Manage all social media posting across ASSET’s social media channels to effectively share ASSET mission and grant program information

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required
-
2+ years grant writing experience

2+ years communications/marketing experience
-
Methodical and strategic thinker, who is results driven

Project management skills
-
Budgeting and accounting experience and awareness of auditing protocols

Experience with grants management software or CRM; experience with Salesforce a plus

Understanding of donor processes and requirements

Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work with a variety of constituents

Excellent organization, presentation and written and oral communication skills

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in both in-person and virtual settings

Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment

Job Type: Full-time (30-37.5 hours); Part-time will be considered
Salary: $46,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year for full-time

Application
After candidates submit application, it is reviewed by the hiring team. Candidate will either be invited to a phone screen with the hiring team or sent a rejection email.
Phone Screen
Candidates will be invited to schedule a time with the hiring team. During the phone screen, we will discuss the requirements of the position and get to know a little about the candidates work history. Candidates will be sent an email requesting their availability for a virtual interview or sent a rejection email.
Interview
Candidates will be invited to a virtual interview with the hiring managers for the position. The interview will last about an hour. In rare cases, candidates may be asked to have an additional phone call with their potential supervisor.
Decision
Candidates will be given a timeline of the decision process.
