ASSET Inc. Announces New Board Member
PITTSBURGH – (May 1, 2006) – ASSET (Achieving Student Success through Excellence in Teaching) Inc. Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Rex L. Crawley, Ph.D., Head, Communications & Associate Professor of Communications, Robert Morris University, has been appointed to the board. He will serve on the board’s Communications/Resource Development Committee.
Dr. Crawley received Highest Merit in Teaching and Highest Merit in Service Awards at Robert Morris University in 1999, 2000 and 2001. He also received Highest Merit as Director of the Office of Honors Programs in 2002. He is a member of the National Communication Association, American Cancer Society and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
ASSET provides K-8 standards-based science and technology materials and teacher professional development programs that directly impact 3,000 teachers and 125,000 students in 48 school districts, charter and private schools. Students in hundreds of ASSET member schools throughout western Pennsylvania now learn science the same way using standards-based learning materials and are taught by teachers who receive professional development directly connected to a standards-based curriculum.
