Events
For your convenience, ASSET's annual calendar is subdivided into the following schedules to give you more detailed information:

Professional Development Schedule: includes a list and description of courses and institutes offered each semester and during the summer.

District Training Opportunities: offers a mechanism for sharing information about training opportunities offered at school districts that may be useful to other ASSET members.

Materials Support Center Schedule: lists delivery and pickup dates for modules.

Special Events Schedule: lists ASSET conferences and other education events.

2006-07 is when districts must participate in mandatory piloting of the PSSA Science test.

In 2007-08, the PSSA Science test will be administered statewide and count towards Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) as part of the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law.

2014 marks the year 100 percent of students are academically proficient and all teachers are "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB.

Coinciding with the return of Halley's Comet in 2061, Project 2061 is a long-term effort of scientists and educators on behalf of all children. Its purpose is to help transfrom the nation's school sytem so that all student sbecome well educated in science, mathematics and technology.
