Originally conceived by industry to drive science literacy and science education reform - first in the Pittsburgh region and then throughout Pennsylvania and the nation - ASSET's mission has always been to advance teaching and learning to engage, inspire, and empower ALL learners.

ASSET’s key audience is educators along a professional continuum - from preservice and early career to in service and career mastery. To be responsive to these varying needs, ASSET’s key partners include higher education, school districts and district leadership, and out-of-school time networks, as well as industry to support community, workforce, and long-term economic mobility in STEM careers.
